Tara’s Heart was born from lived experience.

Our founder, Tara Ballard-Holmes, experienced firsthand the financial, physical, and emotional burden of traveling across state lines for specialized medical evaluations, treatment, and ultimately heart transplant care. That journey revealed a need that is often overlooked: getting access to the right medical care is only part of the challenge—patients and their families must also find a way to get there and have a place to stay.

That is where Tara’s Heart comes in.
